A dedicated group of parents and alumni meet monthly to help provide supplemental funds for the Pioneer athletic program. They are the booster club.

From raising funds for athletic gear to supporting the phase II athletic improvement plan, the booster club’s goal is to supply teams at Sevastopol with equipment so they may continue their athletics to the best of their ability.

“We try to contribute a majority (but not all of it) [equipment], that way, the team still has some responsibility in keeping everything in good shape and not losing it,” President Rob Rankin said.

Besides Rankin, the club consists of Dennis Ploor, Tasha Ross, Joel Schauske, Matt Opsser, Trevor Hasenjjager, and Ted Kartiz. They meet once a month to discuss and plan for current projects.

Recently, the club has invested in phase II athletic improvements; they funded 5,000 dollars for the project. However, they typically work on funding equipment, warm-up uniforms, uniforms, and other miscellaneous athletic needs. Recently they’ve contributed to purchasing goals for the soccer team, hurdles for the track team, nets for the volleyball team, a shooting machine for the basketball team, and much more miscellaneous equipment for various teams.

The club would like to thank all their volunteers over the years and continue encouraging volunteering for the club.

“It wouldn’t be possible without all of our volunteers,” Rankin said.
