The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will meet once again for the coveted Lombardi Trophy this Sunday in New Orleans. The Chiefs are looking to become the first team in NFL history to three-peat. The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to ruin the party and win their first Super Bowl since 2017.
The Chiefs had an absolute dominant season, going 15-1. Meanwhile, the Eagles had the number one scoring offense in all of football. Running back Saquon Barkely, the front runner for offensive player of the year, is looking to win his first Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are looking to continue dominating and win their fourth Super Bowl together.
On Sunday, both teams’ charter planes landed in New Orleans. The teams will undergo a week of practice to get them ready for the game. ESPN showed the teams departing parties.
Eagles defensive tackle Brandon Graham said “Get ready for a parade on Broad Street.”
Meanwhile the Chiefs started practice the night they got to New Orleans.
The student body and staff have mixed opinions over who will win.
“I really want the Eagles to win, but I think it will be the Chiefs,” freshman Rayshaune Johnson said.
Freshman Jon Ash disagrees with Johnson.
“GO BIRDS,” Ash said.
Many people don’t even know who is playing in the big game.
“Who’s even in it?” teacher Carol Schumacher asked.
Overall, the Super Bowl matchup is one for the ages. I think the real winners of the Super Bowl will be the fans who are spending time with their friends and family watching the game, and munching on buffalo chicken wings. We all know that the Taylor Swift fans will be in a frenzy. Will he propose or won’t he? One thing is for sure, the Eagles and Chiefs will put on a world class football game and make the game exciting.
