- Ashton Jeanty goes off again. Another crazy week for the Heisman hope. Jeanty had one of his best performances yet when the Utah State Aggies traveled to Big Blue to take on the Boise State Broncos. Jeanty went absolutely bonkers with the stats proving it. Jeanty rushed for 186 yards under thirteen carries, along with three touchdowns to help secure a Boise State victory 62-30 and move up to number seventeen in the country.
- Georgia hopes for the number one ranked team are high after Alabama took a fat loss to Vanderbilt. The Georgia Bulldogs had a heartbreaking loss to The Alabama Crimson Tide in week five crushing their hopes and dreams to get back to the national title stage. Kirby Smart and Georgia would not let that loss derail their train, they went against conference rival, the Auburn Tigers where they had a major bounce back win 31-13.
- Miami comes back and beats Cal to keep their undefeated record for the first time since 1991- Miami had the California Golden Bears come into Hard Rock Stadium where California was looking like studs when California had a hefty 35-18 lead going into the fourth quarter. Miami would not let Cal trample over them when they went bonkers marching down the field drive after drive to end up winning 39-38.
Losers:
- Alabama’s SEC title- Alabama may have just gave Texas the SEC win and the number one seed in the playoffs with loss to Vanderbilt.
- Tennessee’s offense- Tennessee was all the way up to number four in the country riding with high hopes to try and secure an SEC title for the first time since 1998. This week the Volunteers took on the unranked Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas defense made Tennessee’s stud offense look like a bunch of first graders playing recess football.
- Michigan’s big 10 title hopes- Michigan Wolverines, the defending national champions, were upset by their national title opponents from last year in the Washington Huskies. Michigan fell all the way to 24th in the country after a devastating loss.
- USC playoff hopes- The University of Southern California Trojans hosted the sleeper team in the Big Ten this week when the Minnesota Golden Gophers traveled to the LA Memorial Coliseum. The Gophers who were the betting underdogs would take it to USC and upset them on their home turf, 24-17. USC which is a team that has always had an ambition to play for national championships especially the 2003 Trojans with one of the best rosters of all time. USC fell out of the top 25 after this loss.
