Math Team’s season ends with high conference standing
On Monday, Feb. 6, the mathletes’ season came to an end. Over all, the varsity team placed second out of eight teams in the conference. The junior varsity placed third out of nine teams. Due to increased numbers, there was also a second junior varsity team that placed seventh out of nine teams.
The results are similar to last year, as the varsity also finished second, and the junior varsity finished third.
Eight students took home medals: Ezra Linnan, Inho Lee, Merrick Mann, Logan Filar, Eve Andreae, Aaron Tomaszewski, and Reid Kacmarynski.
Math team coach Kyle Schleis is happy with the way the season ended.
“I think this season went really well. All students worked hard and pushed themselves,” Coach Schleis said.
Two students took home conference awards; Ezra Linnan placed first among all other juniors in the conference, and Logan Filar placed third among all other sophomores in the conference. The math team is open to any students who are looking for ways to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.
